Here is everything you need to find out regarding JEE Main 2024. The NTA conducts the JEE Mains exam twice a year and the JEE Advanced once. For admission to undergraduate engineering programmes at NITs, IIITs, and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions, candidates must pass the Joint Entrance Examination (Main). Additionally, it is a requirement for JEE (Advanced) which paves the way to taking admission in IITs.

Mode of Exam for JEE Main 2024

Paper 1 of the B.E. / B. Tech. via “Computer Based Test” mode only.
Paper 2A: Part-I and Part-II of the math and aptitude tests are in “Computer Based Test (CBT)” mode, and Part-III of the drawing test is in “Pen and Paper” mode. You have to attempt it on a drawing sheet that’s A4 in size.
Paper 2B is for computer-based tests only. It includes math (part I), aptitude tests (part II), and planning-based questions (part III).

Eligibility: Age, Qualification, State

Candidates have no age restrictions to apply for JEE Main 2024. Candidates who have cleared the Class 12/Class 12 equivalent examination in 2022/2023 or 2024, regardless of their age, can apply for the JEE(Main). However, candidates may have to meet the age requirements of the institute(s) if they are interested in applying for admission.
In order to be eligible for the selection process, applicants must possess a minimum of five academic qualifications: Mathematics, Physics, Language; Biology or Biotechnology; Chemistry or Technical Vocational Subject and any other relevant subject.

In order to be eligible for admission to B. Tech / B.Plan / B.Arch into NITs / IITs / CFTIs candidates must achieve a minimum of 75% in the General Students category and 65% in the SC/ST category. Additionally, students may belong to the top 20% of their respective boards.
While applying for a B.Arch program at an institution other than an II-IT, CFIT, or NIT, you’ll need to have achieved at least 50% marks or higher in Chemistry, Maths, and Physics in your 10+2.
The qualifying percentage for IITs, CFTIs and NITs is 75%

What is the State Code of Eligibility?

The State code of Eligibility is the code of State from which the candidate has cleared the Class 12 or Class 12 equivalent qualifying examination. Therefore, the candidate becomes Eligible for JEE Main 2024 from that particular State. The State code does not depend on the place of birth or domicile.

Centres, Choice of Cities for the Exam of JEE Main 2024

During the application process, you have to choose one of the four cities of your choice. NTA will try to select the city of examination in the order you selected in your online Application Form. The selection of Centre cities will be restricted to the State of Residence or State of Current Address only.

Counselling for 2024 JEE Main

The National Testing Agency (NTA) website shows the NTA score and rank of all candidates who took the B.E. / B. Tech exam in JEE 2024. This includes those who take the exam in Session 1 and Session 2, as well as those who appear for the test in both sessions. The final scores are based on the candidate’s total NTA score from Session 1, and Session 2 score, and the best score from both sessions is chosen. You will also be informed if you qualify for JEE Advanced.

After you appear for the exam, you will become eligible for counselling sessions. It opens up the door to various prestigious institutes. You will need to score a minimum of 40% to achieve your goal. The journey may be arduous but it is important to keep faith in your abilities.
