HS 2025 Semester System: Know all about it from Pathfinder

The new HS 2025 Semester System was announced by WBCHSE on 6th April 2024. For many of you, this entire overhaul of the curriculum can be very jarring. Therefore, confusion is guaranteed to ensue and you are of course finding answers in such a situation. HS 2025 Semester System: Division of Semester and Questions Pattern

From this year onwards, 2024, students studying in class 11 will fall under the Semester system. Thus, if you have passed the Class 10 Madhyamik examination this year, you will start your study for Class 11 under the new semester system. Furthermore, there will be 4 semesters in total, 2 in each class which will translate to 2 semesters in class 11 and 2 in class 12 respectively. Moreover, the syllabus in Sem 1 or Part 1 of Class 11 will not be repeated in Sem 2 or Part 2 of Class 11, this is also true for Class 12. Thus, syllabus in each syllabus is separated from each other.

Examination Pattern for HS 2025 Semester System

This year, Semester 1 of Class 11 will be the first time OMR sheets will be implemented for examination. For Competitive exams, OMR is widely used, but at the H.S. level, this will be the first time. Therefore, many of you must have no idea how to answer in an OMR sheet. Well, do not worry as Pathfinder will offer plenty of opportunities to teach and make you practice on an OMR. Additionally, Sem 1 and Sem 2 of Class 11 will be conducted by the School itself. Therefore, we know that many schools may not be able to provide OMR-based exams as they lack the proper infrastructure for it, and will stick to the traditional way of exams. But Pathfinder will offer students the chance to get habituated to OMR-based exams.

• Semester 1 for Class 11 is supposed to take place in November of this year which will have only MCQs. 
• Semester 2 for Class 11 is supposed to take place in March next year which will have only SAQs & DQs. 

Marks Distribution In New HS 2025 Semester System

According to WBCHSE, the marks distribution will be 40 or 35 for each semester depending on the subject. In particular, Practical-oriented subjects will have 35 marks and Theoretical subjects will have 40 marks. is the Test Exam Not Necessary for HS 2025?

Here, for Class 12, the Board itself will conduct the examination. Thus, the qualifying test is no longer needed. You must complete all semesters before taking the final Semester exam. If you cannot, you will be held back and have to pass the subjects you failed to take the Board exam. In other words, students need to pass every semester but like the college system, if they fail at a subject, they can reappear in that particular subject. Additionally, Sem 3 and Sem 4 marks will make up the total score for Class 12 Board results.
