    JEE Advanced 2024 Important Dates

    Last year JEE Advanced was conducted on June 4, 2023, and the Answer Key was released on June 11. Moreover, JEE Advanced result was published on June 18, 2023.     JEE Advanced 2024 Eligibility Criteria

    JAB has set up certain criteria that a JEE aspirant must have to take the exam. Therefore, it is highly advisable for you to know them beforehand:

    Criterion 1 – Performance in JEE (Main) 2024:

    • You must rank among the top 2,50,000 successful candidates in the B.E./B.Tech. paper of the JEE Main 2024 exam (across all categories).
    • The percentages of various categories of candidates to be shortlisted are:
      • 10% for GEN-EWS
      • 27% for OBC-NCL
      • 15% for SC
      • 7.5% for ST
      • The remaining 40.5% is Open to all.
      • Within each of these five categories, a 5% horizontal reservation is available for PwD candidates.

    Criterion 2 – Age limit

    Your date of birth must be on or after October 1, 1998. Candidates who are SC, ST, or PwD will get a five-year age reduction. Therefore, they must have been born on or after October 1, 1993.

    Criterion 3 – Number of attempts

    You can attempt JEE (Advanced) a maximum of two times in two consecutive years.

    Criterion 4 – Academic Qualification

    • Candidate must be XII (or equivalent) passed or appeared first time in either 2023 or 2024 with Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects. Students who have passed before 2022 are not eligible to appear for this year’s JEE Advanced.
    • However, if the Class XII (or equivalent) examination Board declared the results for the academic year 2021-22 on or after October 25, 2022, then the Class XII (or equivalent) candidates of that Board who appeared for their examination in 2022 are also eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2024, only if they meet all the other eligibility criteria.
    • In case the examination Board of Class XII (or equivalent) declared the results for the academic year 2021-22 before October 25, 2022, but the result of a particular candidate was withheld, then the candidate will not be eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2024.

    JEE Advance 2024 Eligibility Criteria for Foreign Students

    Foreign candidates who wish to take the JEE Advanced must meet the following requirements which differ from those listed above. Furthermore, the JEE Advanced 2024 exam will be held in any foreign country. (However, if a foreign candidate wants to appear for the examination at an Indian Centre, they have to bear their own expense including travel expenditures)

    • Candidates who are NOT citizens of India (by birth or naturalized) and/or are OCI/PIO card holders will be treated as FOREIGN NATIONALS.
    • Must have completed their 10+2 level.
    • Foreign candidates must produce identity proof of both their parents.
    • These candidates receive 10% of the total seats in the JEE Advanced course.
    • Foreign JEE Adv. candidates have to register for the exam online, at the https://jeeadv.ac.in/

    Documents Required for JEE Advanced 2024 Registration

    Things to Look for in JEE Advanced 2024 Admit Card

    • Remember, you should carefully examine the entries in the admit card and if you see any discrepancy, contact the Chairperson, JEE (Advanced) 2024 of the respective Zonal coordinating IIT.
    • In case of any downloading issue with the admit card, you should immediately contact the Zonal Chairperson, JEE (Advanced) 2024.
    • A printout of the admit card and a valid original photo identity card (i.e., Aadhaar Card, School/College/Institute ID, Driving License, Voter ID, Passport, PAN Card, Notarized Certificate with the photograph) must be shown at the time of examination. If not, you will not be allowed to appear for the examination without the above-mentioned documents.
