SOF IMO & NSO 2024 Exam Schedule: Olympiad exam Schedule Table

According to SOF, schools may choose one date to hold an Olympiad exam in their facilities. Changes of date are not authorised. There are separate question papers for various dates. Schools may transmit registrations 30 days before the exam date. Registrations can be sent for all exams at once or one at a time. Moreover, exam dates may alter depending on how Corona affects the functioning of schools.

Exam Schedule of SOF IMO & NSO 2024: What is SOF IMO 2024 (International Mathematics Olympiad)

The International Mathematics Olympiad (SOF IMO) is an annual competition held by the Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) to assess the mathematical skills of students from classes 1–12. The SOF Olympiad introduces students to a challenging curriculum from a young age, enabling them to sharpen their creativity, logical reasoning, and critical thinking skills while also strengthening their self-confidence in a competitive atmosphere. The top 5% of students who qualify for the IMO level-1 competition will be eligible to take part in the IMO level-2 competition.

SOF IMO 2024: Syllabus

The SOF IMO 2024 (International Mathematics Olympiad) is conducted at two levels:

Level 1: The first level of the test is organized in the respective schools of the participants during school hours.

(i) The level 1 competition is a test of 60 minutes duration comprising 35 objective-type (Multiple Choice) questions for class 1 to class 4 and 50 objective-type (Multiple Choice) questions for class 5 to class 12.

(ii) The question paper consists of four sections:

Section-1: Logical Reasoning
Section-2: Mathematical Reason
Section-3: Everyday Mathematics
Section-4: Achievers Section

(iii) There are separate question papers for each date of the exam.

(iv) The medium of the test is English.

(v) CBSE, ICSE/ISC and State Board syllabi are followed for setting the test papers. 

(vi) The exam is conducted during school hours.

Level 2: The level 2 is conducted for students of class 3 to class 12. The qualifiers for the second round would include the following:

• At International Level: Top 5% of candidates, class-wise, who appear in the 1st level exam internationally.
• Zone/State Level: Top 25 rank holders from each Zone and each class.
• School Level: Class topper where at least 10 students from a class appear in the exam & score at least 50% qualifying marks.

Exam Schedule of SOF Olympiad Exam: What is SOF NSO 2024 (National Science Olympiad)

SOF’s annual National Science Olympiad (SOF NSO) looks at the natural talent and scientific capabilities of students in grades one to twelve. The NEP promotes Olympiads because they help students acquire critical problem-solving, critical thinking, and reasoning skills. The NSO test has two levels. After passing Level 1, you must take the Level 2 test to receive merit rank and awards.

SOF NSO 2024: Syllabus (5th to 10th)

• Questions of level-I Olympiad exams will be 60% from the current class syllabus and 40% from the previous class syllabus, e.g., the Class-7 NSO exam will have 60% questions from the class-7 syllabus and 40% questions from the class 6 syllabus.
• The Questions of level-II Olympiad exams will be from the current class syllabus only.
• Questions in the ACHIEVERS SECTION will be from the current class syllabus only.

• Dates for 2nd level exam will be announced by January 2025.
• 2nd level exams will be held for students from classes 3rd to 12th for SOF IEO, SOF NSO & SOF IMO.
• SOF ISSO, SOF IGKO, SOF ICO, SOF IHO & SOF ICSO will be single-level exams.
