WBJEE 2023 Exam Date: Know all the important details

WBJEE 2023 exam date is scheduled on 30th April 2023, as commenced by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB). By the fourth week of December’22, the Board will also announce the registration date. WBJEE is conducted for admission into UG Courses in Engineering, Technology, Pharmacy and Architecture for the academic session 2023-24. What is WBJEE?
The WBJEE is an entrance exam that helps students to get admission into reputed Universities, Government Colleges, and Technological and Self-Financing Engineering Institutes of West Bengal. Approximately 114 institutes are participating in WBJEE 2023. Hence, student allocation would be done according to their ranks secured in WBJEE 2023. This state-level exam is conducted in pen and paper mode for two papers- Paper-I (Mathematics) and Paper II (Physics and Chemistry). As the WBJEE 2023 exam date is approaching, students must go through the table below before they start their preparations.

WBJEE 2023 Admit Card
The WBJEE 2023 Admit Card has been released on 20th April 2023. It is released by the Board Authorities on www.wbjeeb.nic.in Once the Admit Card is released, students must take a printed copy of it. Without fail, candidates have to carry the admit card on the WBJEE 2023 Exam Date. Otherwise, they won’t be allowed to sit for the exam.

WBJEE 2023 Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must go through the eligibility criteria before they can apply for the WBJEE 2023 Exam;
Must be a citizen of India or OCI. Candidates with OCI certificate is eligible for Unreserved Seats in the All India Quota.
Applicants must be 10+2 or its equivalent examination passed before 2023. Candi/dates can also be appearing for 10+2 or its equivalent examination in 2023.
Candidate must be born on or before 31.12.2006. The lower age limit is 17 years as of 31.12.2023. There is no upper age limit. – In this regard, for Marine Engineering courses, the upper age limit is 25 years as of 31.12.2023.
Criteria for admission into Engineering/Technological courses:
– Must be 10+2 passed with Mathematics and Physics along with one of these compulsory subjects; Biology/Chemistry/Biotechnology/Computer Application/Computer Science/ Technical Vocational Subject with individual pass marks (practical and theory) in all the three subjects in regular class mode.
– Regular candidates must have secured at least 45% in the above three subjects. In the case of reserved candidates i.e., SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PWD.
– Candidate must have passed in English with 30% in the 12th standard or its equivalent examination.
– The Qualifying Examination Board must be recognised by the Central Government or the appropriate State Government.
Criteria for admission into Pharmacy courses:
– Must be 10+2 passed with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology with individual pass marks (practical and theory) in all three subjects
– Regular candidates must have secured at least 45% in the above three subjects. In the case of reserved candidates i.e., SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PWD.
– Candidate must have passed in English with 30% in the 12th standard or its equivalent examination
– The Qualifying Examination Board must be recognised by the Central Government or the appropriate State Government.
Criteria for admission into 5-Year Degree Course in Architecture:
– According to the regulations of the Council of Architecture (COA), candidates must be 10+2 passed with at least 50% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry taken together with individual pass marks. Additionally, students must get at least 50% in aggregate in the 10+2 level of examination.
– The candidate also needs to qualify for the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by COA, New Delhi.
– According to the norms of the Director General of Shipping, Government of India, the candidate must be Higher Secondary passed from West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or equivalent examination from a recognized Council/Board in regular class mode.
– Must have secured 60% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry taken together with individual pass marks (both in theory and practical/project wherever applicable).
– Candidate has secured 50% marks in English either in 10 or 10+2 standard
Please note that the Director General of Shipping, Government of India 25% seats of the total intake of an institution must be filled in at the time of admission. Otherwise, the course could not be continued for that academic session by the institution.
Criteria for admission into Mining Engineering:
– Candidates with colour blindness / uniocularity are not eligible for Mining Engineering
– Must be 10+2 passed with Mathematics and Physics along with one of these compulsory subjects; Biology / Chemistry / Biotechnology /Computer Application/Computer Science/ Technical Vocational Subject with individual pass marks (practical and theory) in all the three subjects in regular class mode.
– Regular candidates must have secured at least 45% in the above three subjects. In the case of reserved candidates i.e., SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PWD.
– Candidate must have passed in English with 30% in the 12th standard or its equivalent examination
– The Qualifying Examination Board must be recognised by the Central Government or the appropriate State Government.

WBJEE 2023 Exam Date Rules and Regulations:
Applicants must reach the exam hall 30 minutes before starting of the exam
They are further advised to take seats 15 minutes before the exam
We advise you to be sure of your examination centre’s exact location to avoid any inconvenience on the exam date
Candidates are not allowed to sit for the test in any random centre other than the allotted one specified in the WBJEE 2023 Admit Card
Any candidate seen occupying a seat other than the one given to him or her will be reported and his or her paper will be cancelled.
You should carry the following documents to the exam centre- (i) A printed copy of the WBJEE 2023 Admit Card (ii) Coloured copy of the candidate’s photograph. Should be the same as given in the application form (iii) Any ID Proof (Refer to the Documents required in the WBJEE 2023 Exam Date section)
Candidates are not allowed to enter the exam centre beyond the scheduled time of the test under any circumstances.
Candidates are strictly prohibited to carry the following things inside the examination hall- – Mobile Phones – Calculator – Pen – Written or printed material except for the necessary documents – Wristwatch – Log Table – Bluetooth device Any candidate found with any one of these things, his/her exam will be immediately cancelled.
Question Booklets will be distributed to students before the exam begins. Candidates are required to take out their OMR sheets. They should check if their OMR number and question booklet number are the same or not. If the number does not match, the student should ask the invigilator to replace the set from the same series (A/B/C/D).
Do your signature on top of the question booklet and carefully go through the instructions given on the OMR and cover page of the question booklet very carefully.
